Box-Office Collection, Day 3: Akshay Kumar's Pad Man Takes A Big Jump, Collects Rs 16.11 Cr
Akshay Kumar is ruling the box-office like a king. His latest release Pad Man has collected a good Rs 40.05 Cr on its opening weekend. The Day 3 collections amassed to Rs 16.11 Cr, while Day 1 and Day 2 had registered Rs 10.26 Cr and Rs 13.68 Cr.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to social media to share the news:

Taran's tweet read, "#PadMan showed GOOD TRENDING over the weekend... Starting on ordinary levels, the momentum over the weekend helped put up a credible total... Word of mouth is strong... Weekdays are crucial... Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 13.68 cr, Sun 16.11 cr. Total: ₹ 40.05 cr. India biz (sic)."

Co-produced by Twinkle Khanna and Prernaa Arora, Pad Man has also received fairly good reviews from most sections of the media. For those who've come in late, SpotboyE.com Editor Vickey Lalwani gave it a 4-and-a-half star rating.

Pad Man opening day collections were quite similar to Akshay Kumar’s last money spinner Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. It got a decent start of around 20-25%. While the film is doing brisk business in big cities, the smaller sectors are yet to catch up, said a report in Box Office India. With Tiger Zinda Hai having gone off cinemas in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and Padmaavat not playing in these states, Pad Man has an open field in these markets.

What also works in the favour of Pad Man in big centres is that Padmaavat has already had a two-week run, and audiences are looking for new content at cinemas. R Balki’s film satiates that thirst. Pad Man rides on Akshay Kumar’s star power. Kumar’s earlier grossers Airlift and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha had opened to similar numbers, Rs 11.12 Crore and 11 Crore respectively.
